Compost & Topsoil
We source our topsoil from reliable sources and predominately from farms around the Whanganui region.
Our soil is screened to remove debris and is ideal for grass seeding, topping up lawn areas, and building up gardens.
Our Mushroom Compost is a type of slow-release, organic plant fertilizer. The compost is made by mushroom growers using organic materials such as hay, straw, corn cobs, and hulls, and poultry or horse manure. Screened Topsoil
Screened topsoil is topsoil screened through a 5-10mm screen to remove lumps, clumps, and foreign materials. The topsoil is basically sifted through a mesh freeing it of big lumps and debris. This type of topsoil is an excellent choice if you're going to grow different plants, flowers, vegetables, or lay a lawn. Screened topsoil is usually pretty soft and mixes well with various fertilizers, compost, and potting soils.
Screened topsoil is ideal for improving the soil quality in any given area. Worked into existing soil, screened topsoil improves its texture, friability, and water-retention properties. Adding compost, which is a blend of decomposed vegetation, to the screened topsoil adds valuable nutrients to deficient soil. The main benefit of this is that it allows for optimum water flow and distribution of essential nutrients and minerals. This product is kept under cover so it makes is easier to work with.
